April 12, 2008 ~ Art of the South held  a fund raiser for the Great Creatures Rescue of Knoxville, TN.  Pictured above, Mark Keathley has donated his time and effort to assist Infinity Fine Art and Art of the South in their fund raising efforts.  Great Creatures Rescue attempts to find homes for dogs that are either abandoned, neglected, or abused by their owners.  Rescued dogs are given the attention of a veterinarian and then placed in a foster home until they can find adopted homes for them.  Gretchen and Luna are Danes that have been rescued.  Kristen is a foster mom who later adopted Luna.  Bill Nugent, pictured above, is head of the organization and has adopted Gretchen.  Bill related the story of the most recent dog they rescued.  The owner of a three month old Dane puppy had kicked the dog so hard that it broke it's rear leg.  Orthopedic surgery was required that will cost over $2,000.00.  Through these fund raising efforts, almost $2,000.00 has been raised in the last two months.  Infinity Fine Art would also like to thank the dealers who participated.  Each month dealers contribute 50% of the cost of each Publisher Proof to the Great Creature Rescue.
